AI Bulk Generate Options

This is different from the Build with AI wizard that appears when creating a new calculator — AI Bulk Generate adds options to an existing calculator.

Overview

AI Bulk Generate lets you describe the options you need in plain English, and Calculator AI creates multiple fully configured options in one step. Instead of adding and configuring each option by hand, you can generate an entire set of fields, choices, and display elements in seconds. You access it from the Calculator Editor → Options & Pricing tab by clicking the AI icon (sparkle) in the options toolbar above the options list.

Steps

  1. Click the AI icon in the options toolbar.
  2. In the prompt box, describe the options you need. Be specific about your product and the kinds of inputs you want. For example: "I sell custom wedding invitations. I need options for paper type (matte, glossy, linen), quantity (25–500 in increments of 25), custom text for names and date, an image upload for a monogram, and a color picker for accent color."
  3. Click Generate. Calculator AI processes your description and creates a set of options with appropriate types, labels, keys, and default settings.
  4. Review the generated options. You can edit any option's settings, reorder them, or delete ones you don't need.

Each generation consumes AI credits from your plan. The number of credits depends on the complexity of the request.

Details

  • Be descriptive — The more detail you provide, the better the results. Mention specific values, ranges, and whether a field should be required.
  • Iterate — You can run the AI generator multiple times. New options are added below existing ones, so you can generate in batches.
  • Refine afterward — AI gets you most of the way. Review the generated options and fine-tune labels, pricing, and rules to match your exact needs.

Examples

  • Custom t-shirt shop — You type: "I need size (S/M/L/XL/XXL), color (10 popular colors as swatches), quantity, a text box for custom print text, and a file upload for artwork." Calculator AI creates five options with the correct types and pre-filled choice values.
  • Flooring calculator — You type: "I sell hardwood flooring. I need room length and width in feet, a dropdown for wood species (Oak, Maple, Walnut, Cherry), and a checkbox for add-ons like underlayment and trim." Calculator AI creates four options including appropriate measurement types with unit settings.
