Multi-Currency Support

Multi-Currency Support

Overview

Multi-currency support lets your calculator display prices in your customer's local currency. Appify OPC works with Shopify Markets, so currency conversion happens automatically based on the market rules you've configured in Shopify — no additional setup is needed inside Appify OPC. You can view the multi-currency status in Calculator Editor → Optional Features → Multi-currency.

How It Works

  1. Multi-currency is automatically active when your Shopify store has Shopify Markets configured with multiple currencies.
  2. When a customer visits your store from a region mapped to a different currency, Appify OPC converts all prices using the Shopify Markets conversion rate and any catalog price adjustments you've set.
  3. The price summary, option prices, fees, and totals all reflect the converted currency in real time.

No configuration is needed inside Appify OPC. All currency and market settings are managed through Shopify Admin → Settings → Markets.

Key Concepts

Aspect Details
Activation Automatic when Shopify Markets is configured with multiple currencies.
Conversion rates Uses your Shopify Markets exchange rates (manual or automatic).
Catalog adjustments Respects any percentage-based price adjustments you set per market in Shopify.
Rounding limitation Shopify Markets' "Round to nearest $1.00" rounding feature is not currently supported.
Custom-formatted variables Summary variables with "Format value as price" unchecked display a raw number with your template (e.g. {result} m²) and are not converted by the market exchange rate, since they represent non-monetary values.

Examples

  • US-based store selling to the EU — You configure a European market in Shopify with EUR currency. When a French customer visits your product page, the calculator shows prices in euros, converted at your configured rate.
  • Global store with 5 markets — Each market has its own currency. Appify OPC automatically shows CAD in Canada, GBP in the UK, AUD in Australia, and so on — with no per-calculator configuration.
